How to Zoom
If you are using Zoom for the first time, don’t be afraid. It’s easy to use!
The only things you will need to be able to join our Zoom meeting are a tablet or smartphone, or a computer with a microphone and camera.
When joining a Zoom meeting, you should receive a link to join the meeting via Facebook or email. You should be able to join the Zoom meeting by simply clicking on the link provided to you in the email. If you haven’t used Zoom before, you will be prompted to either download the Zoom app or to launch the application. You can download the application on the Google Play Store (Android phone or tablet), Apple Apps store (iphone or ipad), Microsoft store (Microsoft phone or tablet), or on the zoom website (Laptop or desktop). Links for downloads at the bottom of the page.
You will need to create a zoom account to sign in, but you only need the “Basic” account. This is free and will allow you to join our meetings. Remember to save your login information so you won’t need to make another account.
When you access the Zoom meeting room, you might receive a couple of prompts:
1) If prompted, allow Zoom to access the camera/video from your computer/tablet.
2) When prompted, click “Join using internet audio”.
Quick tips:
-If you are using a desktop, you will need a webcam and microphone, many webcams come with a built in microphone.
-It’s helpful to have a stand or something that you can lean a phone up against so that you do not need to hold it for the whole meeting.
-There are multiple different ways to view the meeting. “Speaker view” will display only the person who is currently speaking. “Gallery view” will show more of the people in the meeting. This can be adjusted by clicking on the area of the screen that says “Speaker view” or Gallery view.”
-When in a meeting, make sure to reduce background noise; turn off the tv/radio; go to a quiet room; use headphones to hear better. You can also mute your microphone so noises don’t come through to the whole meeting.
These are just some of the basics. Have fun with the app! If you have any questions, email Pastor Dave, davidnissen18@gmail.com, and he will do his best to answer them.
God Bless and see you on Zoom!
