Discernment
“The spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for , but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Romans 8:26
Dear Discipleship Diary,
What a whirlwind is happening in the life of our greater church. Emotions across the church range from joy and celebration to shock, dismay and grief. I know that these emotions are real, and they are felt by many people in our congregation and in the greater church. Some have wondered what next?
Discipleship Diary, I pray that as the Body of Christ, we could simply take a breather. What I mean by that is that we take a pause, invite the spirit to open our ears, our eyes, and our hearts in order to listen to what God has to say to us. Now that doesn’t mean that we have to be in total agreement with one another, but we do need to be respectful of the opinions of our friends and neighbors. As we are called to be the church, may we trust in God’s Holy Spirit to help us in our weakness so that the Spirit will indeed intercede for us with groans that words cannot express.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Pastor Todd
